Awareness campaign
(From the Desk of Dr. Dinesh Sarda)
I still have fresh memories about my graduation and post graduation. During my MBBS final year curriculum as well as during MS studies, there wasn’t even a single chapter on paediatric Urology. Today 20 years later, nothing much has changed. Still chapter on ‘Paediatric Urology’ is missing. I feel very sad about it. If a general practitioner or general surgeon hasn’t read about this topic, how can we expect them to know/treat/refer patient with paediatric urological problems?
Hence I started a program named as “PEDIATRIC UROLOGICAL AWARENESS COMPAIGN”. I am reaching up to the practitioner of different tahsil and district places and making them aware about diseases of paediatric urology problems which can be diagnosed and treated successfully which earlier were thought to be nondurable.
Paediatric Urological disease constitutes about 60% of paediatric surgical conditions. Appropriate time for referral and surgical correction can definitely improve the outcome..
Till date I have conducted “Paediatric Urological Awareness Campaign” successfully at following places.
