4. Details of experience during HF medical fellowship at University of Michigan and University of Missourie
I had privilege to be selected for Hargobind Foundation Medical Visiting Fellowship at two different centers in USA.- University of Michigan:
- University of Missorie:
Ann Arbor is the academic capital of Michigan. Here I worked at Motts Children Hospital, Department of Pediatric urology under the prestigious guidance of Dr. David Bloom, Dr. John Park and Dr. Julian Wan. In short stay of visit, I attended operation theatre, ward rounds, clinics, seminars and research laboratory every day. It used to be a hectic schedule to start day at 5:30 AM. Different aspect of pediatric urology with main emphasis on reconstructive urology, incontinence and endoscopic urology was learnt. Detailed and fruitful discussion on many urological issues broadened the views and approach to different conditions. Witnessing and assisting in different reconstructive surgeries in fact sharpened my skills.
Dr. Goerge Holcomb III, a well renowned laparoscopic pediatric surgeon is the chief of Department of Pediatric Surgery at Mercy Children Hospital at Kansas City. Different aspect of minimal invasive surgery and practical implications in country like India was studied there. Neonatal Laparoscopy, Lap assisted procedures for complicated surgeries was the mainstay of program.
